'RRR' wins Golden Globe for best song for 'Naatu Naatu', loses best picture-non English trophy

"Naatu Naatu", the irrepressible, fun number from the blockbuster "RRR", danced its way to a Golden Globe as the 'best original song-motion picture' -- and to Indian showbiz history -- at a star spangled awards ceremony here.

The song, which beat the likes of Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, to win the coveted award is the first time that an Indian production has won a Golden Globe. Organised by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the prestigious awards, which mark the beginning of the Hollywood season that ends with the Oscars, were presented here on Tuesday night.

"RRR" had also been nominated in the 'best picture-non English' category and lost out to Argentina's historical drama “Argentina, 1985”.

But there was compensation aplenty.

"And the Globe goes to 'Naatu Naatu' 'RRR'," actor Jenna Ortega announced on stage to loud cheers from the 'RRR' team.

Not for me or you to decide if song is right or wrong: Javed Akhtar on 'Besharam Rang' row

Amid reports that the CBFC has asked the makers of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Pathaan" to make changes to the shots used in its song ‘Besharam Rang', lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar has said filmmakers need to have "trust" in the film certification body that has the authority to decide what will and what will not make the final cut.

His comments came a day before the trailer launch of "Pathaan", a high-octane spy thriller directed by Siddharth Anand.

Referring to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as a "department" under the central government", the 77-year-old industry veteran on Monday said, "It is not for me or you to decide whether the song is right or wrong. We have an agency.

"There are people from the government and a cross-section of the society watch the film and decide what will be passed and what will not be passed.

I don't think he can do that again, says Rauf on Kohli's famous game-changing six

Pakistan fast-bowler Haris Rauf has said that Virat Kohli's magnificent six in his final over at the 2022 T20 World Cup still hurts him. However, the seamer added that, "I don't think Virat can do that again."

Kohli hit a massive straight six over Rauf's head on a length delivery followed by a flick of the wrists for another maximum during the India-Pakistan clash and played an unbeaten knock of 82 off 53 deliveries as he took the side to a successful 160-run chase at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

"Of course, it hurt when that went for a six. I didn't say anything but it hurt me personally. I thought something wrong had happened. Anyone who knows cricket knows what sort of a player he is. He has played that shot now; I don't think he can do that again."
